Perhaps the most famous brand of coffee liqueur in the world - Kahlua. Kahlua is a coffee-flavored liqueur with the flavors of rum, vanilla bean, sugar and arabica coffee. It originated in Mexico and was produced by Pedro Domecq way back in 1936. The name actually means "House of the Acolhua people''. The Acolhua arrived in Mexico in 1200 CE and became a people the inspiration of this amazing liqueur. 

Kahlau contains 20% alcohol content since 2004. It is famous especially in the United States, Australia, Canada and New Zealand. Because of its coffee nature, it makes a great component in many desserts and drinks. Just like regular coffee, the most ideal beverages to combine Kahlua with are cream, milk, chocolate, and other coffee. It is a versatile drink that also goes well with other alcohol. But, you can also drink it straight or on the rocks on it own if you like. Fair warning though, it is an alcoholic drink so just be responsible with your intake. 1. Kahlua Espresso Martini

This is straight up coffee made into a martini. It's very rich, foamy, and has a satisfyingly powerful coffee taste that is just addicting and satisfying. 

Ingredients:

Instructions to Make:

  1. Measure vodka and Kahlua with a jigger and pour them in a shaker
  2. Add in the espresso and the simple syrup. Add in ice cubes.
  3. Shake vigorously for about 10 seconds. 
  4. In a chilled martini glass, strain and pour in the mixture. 
  5. Garnish coffee beans on top. 

2. Sombrero Cocktail

Kahlua is from Mexico and this drink’s name honors this fact. The star of this drink is the Kahlua, complemented with the creaminess of the milk or cream and you get a nice glass of Sombrero.

6. Long Tall Black

9.  Dirty Banana

  • 45ml Bacardi White Rum 
  •  30ml Kahlua coffee liqueur
  •  30ml Horizon Organic Milk
  • 30ml Organic Valley Cream
  •  1 Banana
  • Ice cubes

19. Brave bull

Sounds like an intimidating drink but, really, this is so easy to drink and make as well. This is a variation of the black  but it uses tequila instead. For all those tequila lovers out there, this drink is for you.

  • ½ oz Kahlua coffee liqueur
  • Ice cubes

20. Duck fart

This shooter has a funny name with a funny story. It is also a layered shot similar to B-52 but it uses whiskey instead. This drink is popular in Alaska, where it originated.

  • ⅓ oz Kahlua coffee liqueur
  • ⅓ oz Baileys Irish cream
  • ⅓ oz Crown Royal whiskey

  • ¾ oz DeKuyper Hazelnut Liqueur
