The Rob Roy cocktail is a drink made from scotch, vermouth, and bitters. Its origin dates back to 1880 at Waldorf Astoria's original location where it quickly became the bar's signature drink. This cocktail is very popular today and many variations exist including adding orange curaçao or dry gin to make a Rob Roy Fizz.
