Since everybody's tastes differ, you could treat this drink like a Bellini bar. Skip the lemonade and mango puree for more creative freedom in mixing flavors together to suit your guests or individual taste! Or you can just stick to the original!
In a medium saucepan, add the sugar and half of the water. Mix well until all of the sugar is dissolved. Then bring to a boil on high heat and constantly stir while you wait for it to turn into a syrup-like consistency. Once that happens, remove from heat and allow it to cool down completely before moving on to your next step.
Place cubed mangoes in a blender along with lemon juice and pulse until smooth liquid forms, which takes about one minute or so at high speed.
Pour this mixture through a strainer set over a bowl, then use a rubber spatula to push as much liquid out as possible.
Add the remaining 3 cups of water, lemon juice, and prepared syrup to the pitcher and stir.
Recipe Note
The best way to avoid having your mango lemonade dilute after adding ice is by pouring it over cups of iced water.
