Advanced Mixology
5 minutes
Bourbon Sour is a classic cocktail that is making a comeback in bars and restaurants across the country. Sour refers to the citrus juice used to balance out the sweetness of the bourbon.
Some bartenders like to add an egg white to give the drink a foamy texture, but this is optional. The key to making a perfect Bourbon Sour is to use fresh, quality ingredients.

2 oz. Bourbon whiskey
1 oz. Fresh lemon juice
¾ oz. Maple syrup
Orange peel and a cocktail cherry for garnish
Ice
Combine the ingredients into the cocktail shaker and shake for about a minute or until very cold.
Strain the drink into a glass and add ice.
Serve and garnish with orange peel and cocktail cherry.
