Star Anise-Whole Chinese Star Anise Pods, Dried Anise Star Spice (3 oz)

Our household uses a lot of star anise, so flavor is essential. These had a nice strong aroma--very pleased.

We live in the country on an acreage. With that comes the occasional mouse in our house. While I absolutely detest these disease-ridden, pooping machines....I wanted to be proactive this year and work on warding them off. I read that an equal amount of cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, chili flakes, and star anise in a sachet may be the answer to our problem and that it will repel mice. If nothing else, my house will smell like Christmas.

I looked everywhere for these at my local stores and could not find, so ordered these. They worked well in my homemade apple cider and I really like the flavor they give off not to mention they are pretty.

It enhanced flavor of food

I am not a spice expert or a chef, we bought this for a cocktail recipe we like. Price is very good. Get a whiff of it and it is certainly fragrant, which tells me its reasonably fresh. Very happy with the Star Anise.
