I've opened thousands of bottle of wine over the years, worn out my share of wine keys too. I like this one as it has some heft to it, you know you're using a better quality wine key when you have some weight behind it. The screw is not Teflon coated, its only draw back. Because of its weight it is very easy to screw into a cork, even the newer plasticized corks. The bigger size gives it more leverage than a smaller sized unit and the weight also makes it easier to control. One key to removing… corks is to keep the same pressure on the cork as it starts to come out of the bottle, as long as it isn't falling apart. Keeping the same pressure means that even softer corks that may be starting to fall apart will come all the way out before falling apart. This is a great corkscrew, my friends that have used it at my home have all liked it a lot! (and they have opened a LOT of wine bottles as well).

I am often overly expectant regarding product value for price, and am often disappointed. The value of this product far exceeds the purchase price. Good weight, sturdy, strong pivots (no wobble or looseness), great materials, cammed worm for straighter cork removal, curved foil blade, great hand feel. Way more value than I was expecting from a "twenty dollar" product, and I am way way happy with my choice from a sea of comparable products. I bought a second one.

Much sturdier than plastic-handled openers. Quality manufacturing and finish make for a little more pleasure when opening a good bottle of wine.

This is the same style of wine key I've purchased several times. There is a reason it keeps disappearing. Curved knife with flat and serrated allows a wider ranger or opening use. Hinged back is always better.
