This mallet is great. It comes with a canvas bag so I placed the ice cubes in the bag and hammer them. The ice breaks into nice small pieces to use in Margaritas and other drinks, or for even a glass of refreshing water with lemon. It was a little pricey, but worth it. I get a lot of compliments on it when I have guests over.

I got a countertop pebble ice maker and needed a mallet to break up the bags of ice stored in the freezer. My cousin recommended this mallet. I use it often and for more than ice. The bag keeps it protected from other things in the cupboard. I love this thing!

The mallet and bag work. If you are getting holes in the bag you are simply hitting it too hard. This isn't ring the bell or whac-a-mole. It takes barely any effort to turn ice cubes to shards, and Im not using the hexagon cubes, I use the slightly larger B-style 15 cube trays. Single cube comes out at like 1.2-1.5" squared, depending on how full you get it. anyways, I just got mine and filled the bag...and like some of you started going at the bag of ice with the mallet for like 6 second…s like I was mad at it. Then I peeked and all the ice was pulverized. So for quality control I filled it again...and like just taped...a strong tap but not a whack. Ice was in shards. Perfect. Not sure about care for the bag, But the mallet is nice wood, im waiting to get some oil to treat it before I use it again. Just remember to focus your inner Happy Gilmore...just give it a little tap, tap,tap,taparoo...But if you feel the need to punch Bob Barker, go to town. It is yours and was only $20. As you can see from the picture adding the protection oil darkens the wood quite a bit, but no biggie unless wood color is important to you

Love it!

Crushes ice nicely, the bag is small but you can crush enough for two glasses maybe. If I want more than that I will use the bag to go over my bagged of ice and just whack out the clumps of ice and they still break up nicely. Solid build for both pieces.

After a family member stabbed his own hand trying to “break up ice” for a drink, i figured this would be the safest gift to give .So far he loves it and has not had any more accidents. Win/win.

Haven't used yet so im not sure about the quality but i think its okay. Im surprised because its a little bigger than my expectation. Exactly like what you see in the picture

Great items, very well made! I don’t have an ice crusher on my fridge, but if you’re like me and like crushed ice, this is the item to purchase! Both the bag and mallet are very well made. I’m sure I’ll get a life times use out of both of them. The cotton/canvas bag is thick, durable, doesn’t shed fibbers and dries extremely quickly if you leave it out of the freezer. The mallet is very well made, durable and just the right size for crushing ice for personal use. Just one note, the bag is…n’t very large but that’s an easy fix, if you need a lot of crushed ice for a party of something, just crush it then pop it in a container in the freezer and crush more.

After fusing with electric and manual ice crushers, I bought this for my husband. Now with the strength and precision of a caveman, he crushes his ice with gusto. Who knew: a canvas bag and a mallet. Perfect!

Love this sturdy Lewis bag and mallet set. One 3-inch square cube of ice in the bag and a couple of swift smacks fills a Collins glass with crushed ice quick as a wink -- and relieves some of the day's stress (lol). It might be nice were the bag a teeny bit larger, but that is a very very minor thing.
