I've had this blender for about 3 years now and use it just about every day, sometimes multiple times. It has held up well. I primarily use it to make smoothies from frozen fruit and vegetables in the mornings. I've also used it occasionally to make soup bases for cooking.Pros:Powerful: I haven't found anything yet that it will not blend. I have not tried nut butters but thats not my intended use case.Fast: The smoothie button on this will blend you a perfect creamy smoothie in about 30 seconds….Durable plastic jar: I count this as a pro because my previous one was glass and broke when I bumped it hard on the counter. Not an issue here.Durable base: I've used it to make 1000s of smoothies and it does not show any signs of wearing out yet. The coupling is mated properly with the jar so virtually no chance of stripping it.Easy to clean: I can just pop the jar in the dishwasher to clean it. The base has a protective rubber mat that can be removed easily and cleaned.Cons:Loud: This blender can get pretty loud at full power. Low power is not so bad. I know the fancy blenders use quieter motors but for 1/3rd the price, I'll put up with a little noise.Pour spout: I prefer the pointy pour spouts as they are more accurate when pouring to me. This one has a rectangular spout that can cause you to miss your glass if you aren't particularly careful when pouring it. Minor gripe.

Six and a half years into a seven year limited warranty the blade bearing in pitcher burned out. A little email correspondence and Oster replaced the entire unit hassle-free.The bearing and blade are not replaceable like in their cheaper units. If they were, it would have been even easier to keep it going.

We bought this based on The Wirecutter review. It is a little taller than I wish, and louder. I haven't had a chance to make thick soups or smoothies, but the one smoothie I have made turned out well. It comes with a very useful plunger to break up clogs — much better than the wooden spoon I used with my old blender.

Blender has plenty of power. Blends very well. All blenders are noisy; this one is very reasonable in comparison. Seems very sturdy and well built.

20220602I reached out to support, and they're going to replace the entire unit. All that was needed is photos/video of the issue. In the end, it might be my own fault. I sometimes blended with less than the minimum fill.OriginalGarbage, sadly. The blade no longer spins easily, and the motor does not like that. A replacement jar/container seems to be $160 from the replacement vendor linked to directly from the Oster web site. So you'll spend half the price of the Versa every year or two buying a… new jar/blade assembly. And this is literally from doing smoothies for a single person, maybe 3 times a week for 2.5 years.Just get a Vitamix; I'm about to. And Vitamix seems universal replacement containers that work on all? of their models! (Sadly it's the same all in one construction though.)

It was the first blender I've had that cost more than $100, and after 8 years, it's still working like new. It's a solid construction and has a lot of power.

I thought I could use the reverse feature manualy to make choppy salsas and you can;t. it is like most other blenders just a solid one. it is good. reliable and great design. but all the speeds are about the same after all.
