Just cut the lip as shown. Only cut the lower part. Repeat for all 8 indent points, then pry off by hand. Lid will be reusable.

Great brew kit for my first time brewer.

This was one of the first beer kits that I purchased when I was looking to get into homebrewing and I still use a lot of the same components today! The recipe/ingredients included was fresh and probably still one of my favorite batches that I made!The Good:- The bucket with the nozzle is excellent for filling large jugs and I still use it to this day- Included spoon is extremely tough and has excellent reach for stirring- Recipe/ingredients got me a reliably good batch of my first home brew bat…ch- I still use the 6gal stainless steel kettle for brewing as well as the occasional chili- Still use the racking cane to get the clean beer out of my fermenterI like this kit because I still use the components and they weren't complete throwaways when I started upgrading equipment. While writing the review I noticed the included essentials kit has changed quite a bit so as a consumer recommend getting a kit with at least the above items.

no hydrometer! It did come with a sample cylinder.

I ordered the product as a gift to a friend so I have not seen it in use yet but the packaging is so nice and impressive that everybody who sees the box is intrigued and envious. I got congratulated by strangers who saw the nice packaging. Shipping was on time and fast. So far, I have been very satisfied.

My Boyfriend received this for Christmas. He originally had a 1 gallon starter kit from Brew Demon. He was very impressed with the items that was included with the new kit. It gave home the 2 fermenters, a block party brew kits, bottle caps, bottle capping tool and siphon hose. It is nice to see him excited and eager to start brewing. Thank you Northern Brewer for making a great product.

Northern Brewer host a home run with this beginner’s kit. While it does not include a brew kettle, I will be going to local restaurant supply to pick one up at a decent price. Can’t wait for the critters do their job!

I have two suggestions. The instructions don't have pictures and the YouTube videos could be better. So take your time and read the instructions 3 to 4 times. Then strategically layout everything and clean everything like you are about to perform surgery. Here is the last suggestion, take your time. If you are not careful, you might accidentally skip a critical step and ruin the entire batch. This means slow and steady is the way to go. I am going to bottle next week. I'll update the re…view after I bottle the beer and taste it.
