I’m always worried about the weight of the glass and quality of the etching when I order online but this did not disappoint. It is sturdy and looks great on my bar cart

The base is nicely weighted so you can stir a cocktail without fear of the glass tipping. While some prefer metal mixing glasses, I like to see the cocktail as I’m assembling it. I pre-chill the glass by filling it with ice and cold water and allowing it to sit for a few minutes. Condensation on the glass lets you know it’s ready. I prefer to use a julep strainer with this mixing glass but a Hawthorn one should work too.

I was impressed with this mixing glass. The bottom is thick and it’s the perfect ounce size. A must have for your bar.

I really love the look and sturdiness of this mixing glass. I do really wish i would have gotten the larger one though as this is a little small when you fill up with ice and stir

In reading an online article about how to improve the results of mixing cocktails, this was a recommended vessel for the process. The glass is thick and heavy for its size, due to the extra thick base. That also plays a role in allowing it to stay cold after taking it out of the freezer and adding the ingredients for a cocktail. Then you add a scoop of ice and stir for about half a minute. When the cocktail is then strained into the appropriate serving glass (also pre-cooled in the freezer), i…t stays cold for several minutes without having to dilute it with ice. It's an significant improvement in beverage quality to keep it undiluted. This mixing vessel serves that function admirably. A quality game changer.

Love it so far! Seems to be sturdy enough especially the bottom. The sides of the glass aren’t near as thick but shouldn’t be an issue if used with care.
