These kits are the current value wine kits to get. With good process and patience you can make wine that will handily rival grocery store bottles. I didn't use the enclosed yeast as there are a multitude of options out there. The Merlot kit fermented with Lalvin Bourgovin 212 made for a bold juicy medium body wine with lots of pleasant new wine flavors. Do not expect to have good wine in 28 days. I would secondary for 7 months minimum.

This makes the best wine from concentrate that I've tried. I add black currants during the fermentation process and it adds a great flavor profile to the merlot. Has everything you need. Not cheap but worth it if you want to make a good tasting wine or port

The wine tastes great and is worth it to me. This is my second order. I plan to buy in the future. The fermenting time was just like they directed.

Nicely packaged wine kit that produces a decent Merlot. I appreciated the packages of Oak chips to add. Instructions are clear and concise.

First, I do not use these as intended. I don't like drinking chemicals so this is what I do. In a glass 5 gallon jar I add the juice and about 3 gallons of water, and the yeast. A couple of days later the violent ferment is done, I top off with water to make 5 gallons. Let it ferment till it stops on it's own. It will be very dry. Siphon off into sterilized gallon jugs until clear. Post sweeten with honey which doesnt like to ferment as much. Very good, strong grape flavor, high alcohol…. Less than 10 bucks a gallon and better than anything I would buy.

We made a 6 gallon batch of merlot, started in October 2017. I added 1 cup medium thickness invert syrup (sugar water syrup). It tasted like watered down juice for 2 years. My husband sampled one bottle per month. Finally after over two years, it taste like incredibly smooth merlot. I liken it to the Bordeaux that I buy for $13.99 per bottle for six bottles, but a little sweeter. We purchased back in June 2017 for $41.35. Now, it’s $50 and still a great deal.
