I love the bottle. I like the taste better than Kentucky 74 or Lyres American Malt (Bourbon style) which taste like raisins instead of whisky. It's one of the best alcohol substitutes in my collection. Other Lyres that I enjoy are the Aperitif Dry (Vermouth) and the Aperitif Rosso (Sweet Vermouth). Combined with The Aperitif Rosso or the Amaretti (which is also excellent), you can make very convincing cocktails Rob Roy and Godfather) especially if you make a double and use 2 oz Highland and… 1 oz real Scotch plus the sweet "spirit" desired. Just amazing cocktails. My only complaint is the price. I agree with another reviewer that it is the best whisky/scotch alternative I have tasted.

I serve this in my cafe to friends of Bill. Seconds are usually ordered.

I've been searching for a quality NA spirit for some time now, and Lyre's is definitely superior to any other I've tried. I really enjoyed this Highland Malt. It has that slight peaty hint and a kick at the end. Sure these spirits are a little pricy compared to the real stuff. But if you don't drink and you're looking to capture that feel and taste of various spirits (particularly the London Dry!), Lyres is where it's at.

I am a Manhattan girl and cutting back, have tried a few of these and they were a waste and had to toss. I was pretty surprised by this one and will buy again. Nothing can replace true bourbon but mixed, this was pretty decent. In the past I tried rye tea but this has a bit of spice to it to have more of that bourbon feel. Not for everyone, unsure why people think it will be EXACTLY like the real thing...but this works for me!

My family has experimented with a number of the newer non-alcoholic drinks, because we have some folks who do enjoy spirits but we also are well aware of family members who never drink alcohol for various reasons. Hence our quest to find some options. The easiest these days are "bubbly" fruit drinks when we're having a Champagne toast. But some drinks are much tougher to adapt. The first thing to say is: Don't compare this to fine whiskey. Our family has deep roots in Scotland and we've been bac…k home multiple times over the years. We know good whiskey. And, quite simply, it's unfair to compare this to great "real" whiskey. This has a flavor we would describe as "reminiscent of the whiskey family." That's our best wording. We also tried this in a traditional whiskey cake we make toward the end of each year and that cake was a hit with the family. We've also tried this in a whiskey ice cream topping from a recipe we've made through the years. Came out well. So, if you're judging this on the basis of "real" whiskey, it's a losing proposition. In our view, though, it's still a decent option to offer in a mixed family or circle of friends like ours. And give it a shot with cooking as well. We found it works nicely.

I was looking for an interesting, kinda celebratory alcohol-like drink that's non-alcoholic and I ran into this Non-Alcoholic Spirit drink from Lyre's Highland Malt and I like it!The taste is very alcoholic but there's no alcohol in it. With the first sip, I thought the taste was a bit strange, but as I drank more of it, I started to really like it and appreciate it, it's a bit carbonated/fizzy which I found to be really nice as well. The expiration date is in November 2023, about a year from th…e day I received it, which I think is a long enough time period.Overall, this bottle has a nice non-alcoholic whisky taste to it for a nice price and I recommend it. I'll be back for more myself.

I, probably like many others, got this for the sheer curiosity. Non-alcoholic whiskey? In a nice bottle? The concept alone made me chuckle. I actually brought this up at work while we were discussing a potential holiday party, as we could have "work safe booze". Of course I had to share the link and my colleagues theorized about whether they would like it and whether or how long it would take a coworker to notice the bottle if we snuck it onto their office shelves. This is pricey and honestly, w…on't really taste like whiskey to many, particularly those who know what good whiskey tastes like. At the same time, it's not awful tasting and there's something to be said about having this available for those situations where you can't drink the real deal. Maybe it's because you are at a work party where someone may be called to work at any given time. Maybe it's because there's someone who doesn't drink at all for whatever reason. This is the time where something like this could be useful. To be honest, the bottle is also gorgeous and is worth saving, so this does have some gift value to it as well.Just go into this expecting it to be its own thing. Don't expect it to taste like the real deal because ultimately, whiskey can't be properly duplicated. Think of this as a non-alcoholic ode or homage to whiskey. It's still going to be up to personal tastes, but I think that will help to give this a more fair shake.
