This is THE peeler to have. In your house, and in professional kitchens. I’m an executive and this is the only peeler I purchase for staff. I used only these when I was a line cook. If taken care of, it will be a workhorse that costs you $6 a piece for at least 6 months of intensive kitchen utilization. It will fly through anything with ease from carrots and squash, to asparagus and mushrooms. Zesting a lemon without pulling away the pith (the white bitter fiber between the skin and flesh) for …say, a lemon oil, makes all the difference in flavor and ease of use.To some of the points made in other reviews I’ve seen, mainly the rusting issues. These are CARBON blades, they are highly reactive to moisture and acidity. After any peeling task including acidic foods such as lemons/limes, papaya, oranges etc. you must eitherA: wipe the blade and continue other peeling tasks.B: remove the blades or not, soap and water, hand wash well, and dry well with a cloth. If you want to be intensive you can treat the peeler blades with blade oil or a neutral oil like grapeseed and wipe away the residue with a soft cloth. Olive oil is ok, but it may leave behind a sticky residue if not wiped properly after applying. All in all with a little care these peelers will go a long way. I lost my home one in our most recent move but it lasted me a few years, with no rust. I didn’t even treat it with oil. Just hand wash and hand dry.

Easy to use
Recommended by America's Test Kitchen and now I know why. Easy to slice through peach skins, where other slicers did not without mashing the peaches. The three pack takes up little space in my drawer.
I buy these for all my friends. I’ll never use another peeler!
Great shower gift for a wishing well or house warming gift ,if you are using a gift basket .Love to cook , so set comes into frequent use ! I gave a set to my son & daughter-in-law, who love it too.
I have used this to peel carrots, cucumbers and other vegetables for a few months now and it works well! Its only flaw, for me, is that it is small and I could wish for it to be just a little bit larger to make it easier to hold. But it removes the peels from vegetables far more efficiently than the "handle" peeler (from a company you've probably heard of) did.
I think this item is more targeted to pro kitchens, but it can work in home kitchens too. It takes a bigger bite than the worn out home oriented Oxo that I used for years and helps me process veg at home quicker.
Absolutely love the Kuhn Rikon Original Swiss Peeler. They are sharp, lightweight and peel many vegetables with little effort. These were actually recommended in a book I was reading by J. Kenji Lopez-Alt of "The Food Lab, Better Home Cooking Through Science" which is a James Beard Foundation Award Book. After trying these, I must say that it is really nice to have such a handy vegetable peeler. I just wish that more people knew about these! I will be sending these to my family members for t…heir birthdays this year! You won't be disappointed and neither will they! And they are the perfect price point!
