I'm used to making ice cream in an old fashioned hand churn. I needed one that made smaller amounts and wasn't so work intensive. After much research, I decided to try this one. It has not disappointed! I keep the tub in the freezer and bring it out when I want to try a recipe. So far I have made the classic vanilla and a caramel pecan batch. Yum! The trick is to have the tub absolutely cold and the custard chilled before churning. Then resist stopping until the ice cream is pushing out… of the top hole. Then I transfer to another container and put it in the freezer to harden. I don't like soft ice cream. It works great! The machine is a little noisy but anything with a motor is going to have noise. Everything is easy to clean. Just buy it. You won't be sorry.

If you need to make 4 or 5+ quarts of ice cream at a time, you should look into a large and expensive compressor-cooled machine. Otherwise this compact, sturdy, simple-to-operate machine is totally adequate.

Oh my goodness, we love this thing! It's so easy and QUICK to make homemade ice cream that honestly tastes better than anything from the store. The only thing I will say is that it's louder then I thought it would be - not a big deal for us at all, but just something that surprised me when we used it the first time. Highly recommend!

So far I’ve only made vanilla using the recipe in the book but halved the sugar. Only 4 ingredients to make but added a 1/8 tsp salt that made it just right. It’s a great machine takes very little time to make. My grandchildren love it.

I absolutely love this ice cream machine. The main reason I purchased it is because of the 2 quart size. The fact that you don't have to bother with ice and rock salt is a bonus! My family loves homemade ice cream. So we hope to get many years of use out of it.
