I bought this to replace an old plastic cutting board that suffered a traumatic ending when my wife set it on a still-hot stove top. This bamboo board is hefty and very well made. I have not found any splinters or even any signs of damage to the cutting surface. I have treated it a couple of times with Walrus Oil to keep it nice and waterproof. I will say that I miss the cutout handle from my old cutting board because this one is fairly heavy and difficult to hold by the edge with one hand …while washing and drying it. The size is perfect for me as it is large enough to provide the necessary work space but also still fits in my sink for washing.

This thing is SUPER thirsty for oil brand new. Oil it heavily, several times, over the first few weeks - then you can cut back to a light oiling once every week or two with daily use. Cleans easily, doesn't hold smells/tastes like garlic/onion/spicy peppers (once thoroughly and properly oiled, and cleaned with vinegar after use), great to have natural wood in my kitchen instead of getting microplastics in my food from plastic cutting boards or dulling my knives on glass boards.

It is very stable, and the water will not run on the table. What's more, it's made of bamboo, which won't get moldy

I really love the size of this cutting board... It even fits over my sink perfectly! Not to mention it's beautiful and great quality!
