Lighter than glass, but sturdy enough it doesn't bend or bow...which can push wine into the airlock. Doesn't do that with this model.

Did 6 batches in them. They worked just fine.

So, I actually used these as a "vase" for my wedding. I kept seeing pictures of these large jugs being used and they were so expensive and glass and I knew I would break them so I went on a hunt and totally forgot about carboy jugs. These worked perfectly for what I needed AND they were plastic, which helped so much!

I love this my kids using it as piggy banks and just add there favorite stickers to it ! Perfect
