Of course if one leaves the slider open, the times will be cut by about 30% at least. But those long times should be more than enough for any person to finish the 12 ounces before the temperature change affects the taste.I checked the rim, bottom, internal surface, finish, and obviously the lid.It has a slider to make it …not just splash proof but spill proof. Didn’t test it with a full cup, because its use will be mostly in the cup holder or on a table. The lid is there to prevent accidents from becoming disasters, so even a bit of a leak won’t detract from its functionality.The slider has silicone caps for the opening which allows straws. Great idea temperature wise and ease to clean.It might fit in some cup holders. In my experience, I can see people dropping it on hard surface. The bad/good news, there will be a dent, but the cup is expected to survive.
