I like my Brita Stream 12 cup a lot. I've been living with it for a month+. My pitcher pours/filters as fast today as day 1 and the water tastes better than out of the tap. That's the essential bottom line for me: if it does not improve the taste of my water why use it?I had a smaller 10 cup model about a year before this and I was very pleased with that model. This one is pretty much the same except for having 12 cup capacity. From my perspective filtering quality = improved taste. Of course th…ere is more to consider than taste. I don't have access to a water testing lab so I'm just trusting that Brita with its reputation will filter my water well. Older models filter water as it comes into the pitcher. This filters it on the way out as it is poured. That may be better because with the Stream every drop is filtered as you pour it and filtered water does not sit in the pitcher potentially for a long time like in the older models. The key consideration of this variation of the Brita pitcher is the pouring speed. Good speed makes the stream more convenient for me. It lives up to my expectation of reasonably fast pouring and is much better than waiting on the older model to fill the pouring chamber with more slowly filtered water. How fast the water comes out is related to how much water is in the pitcher so it pours most quickly when full. There is a nice flip-up hatch on top for filling with water. Pop it up, fill under the tap and press the hatch closed. Easy peasy! There is a convenient button on top to check the filter with status indicated by LEDs. With just a month+ of use it still indicates my initial filter is OK.Convenience comes at a cost. The Stream is priced is (as of this review) about $10 to $15 more than the similar model of the 10 cup version older style Brita pitchers; there is no 12 cup model of the older style I am aware of. Filters are more too at about $3 more for a package of 3. I find this a modest cost for the convenience of filter-as-you-pour.Installing the filter was very easy. Squeeze the buttons at the handle and lift off the lid, twist off the filter holder, drop the filter into the holder (open end at the top!), replace the holder in the lid and finally click the lid back in place. The more detailed instructions from, Brita are:Wash your hands and remove filter from bag then flush it with cold water for 15 seconds. Hand wash pitcher. Insert the filter into the filter cage with the blue ring facing up. Press filter into cage until it clicks. Install filter cage onto the lid by twisting. Add water and discard first pitcher of water to flush out system. Activate the electronic indicator. Replace the water filter every 40 gallons or change filter as directed by the electronic indicator. Do not use with hot water.Where I live the water out of the tap is pretty good, but I think the Brita makes it better. Taste is my measure for filter quality. By providing "instant" filtering as I pour the Brita Stream is more convenient than the older/slower filter-while-filling models. The stream and it's filters cost a little more but not enough to negate the convenience for me. I think Brita has a winner with the Stream and I'm giving it a deserved 5 stars.
SOOOO much better than the pitchers you have to wait to use until its all done filtering. This is fill, pour and done.
My wife use it everyday she drink more water then me Works as expected
I drink a lot of water during the day and the filter lasts longer than it said it would. :-D
Was very disappointed the filter was not included in the package. It clearly states a filter included.
I like this brita filter so much! It lasts longer and my water also tastes better than my other brita filter. Awesome purchase!
I am a BOBBLE FAN. I like being able to fill my water bottle ANYWHERE because the filter is in the cap so any TAP WATER WORKS because it filters as you drinkThis pitcher is the same concept. I just fill and leave it. It filters as I pour water into my glass. It does not pour super slow at all. Of course not as quick as the tap but if you want tap water then drink tap water.I also like that the filters are not going to cost me a days salary.I find that sad when a company makes a product all p…eople can use, BUT THE MAIN COMPONENT OF THE PRODUCT is too pricey for an average home. These are not.My pitcher filters were getting to hard to find and I was hesitant about this but I am so glad I bought it. AND I do not like cold water so it sits on the counter and it has such a sleek look.
What can I say... it's a Brita. Great product. This model even has a small pour spout to fill water bottles. It also monitors when it's time to purchase new charcoal filters. Water tastes great!
It’s perfect!
After several years of lugging water from a natural spring many miles away, I purchased this Brita filter jug and am delighted with the results. It renders my town water clean and drinkable and saves me many hours of lugging gallon jugs to my third floor apartment. Wish I had found it sooner.
