I bought this too late to use as a growler, the night time temperatures are good enough to chill beer now, but this is a product I am proud to own.I don't know if I want to use this for bottling my home made beer because the top might get damaged during the lagering, but it will be great for pouring chilled beer in.As far as hot things go, this works at least as good as my Stanley thermos that holds14 cups of coffee.It is a little difficult to pour liquids out neatly with this growler, so I rec…ommend removing the cover before pouring.Hardly anyone tells you about UV protection on their products anymore, so I wouldn't leave this exposed to direct sunlight for long. Especialy if you have a carbonated product inside.
