The trick to seal barrel like the ones here lots of people don’t realize that in order to seal the barrel you have to have little patience and it will take some time for the wood to expend, the advice is put warm water in the barrel and change it regularly Word of advice, make sure no chemicals in the water and if you do that way you barrel will be a lot quicker for the barrel to swell and Seal. Now if it doesn’t it might needs to tight the rings around it meaning that the rings need to be sque…ezed toward a he Center of the barrel and when it stops leaking for sure Themen rinse the inside of the barrel with distilled water and you are ready to go!Good luck and happy boozing

I bought the 20 liter cask, and I could not be happier. Looks to be very well made, and I may be lucky, but after filling with very hot water, there appear to be only a few seeping leaks, no big issues. The cradle on the other hand has hammer marks, where they pounded one end to put it together, although not a deal breaker. I'll just put that side to the wall. Otherwise I am extremely pleased, and will be purchasing another one in the near future.

My husband liked that it was great for the size, quality and price. The only complaint I heard was that the instructions were not exactly clear. They required the user to infer them completely. Hopefully, he did it correctly. Maybe clear instructions could be placed on the item web page so that the issue could be resolved or a how to video.

I bought this barrel before I was actually ready to use it. Some of the instructions suggested that it must be filled and seasoned immediately upon receipt, but the instructions that came with the barrel said it was okay to wait a couple months before filling. I started seasoning my barrel about a month after receipt and it has been drip-free from the first time I filled it with water. Although I followed the seasoning process, refilling and wetting the barrel daily for three days, it is har…d to tell that there has been any change. I worry a little about how long the bung stopper will hold up as the leather wrap that seals the hole seems like it wants to squish and deform each time I pull it out. However I have smoothed it out and easily pressed it back into the hole with no problems so far. And for long term storage I will not be removing the bung often, so I think it will be fine. I can’t wait to order and fill a few more barrels.

I'm using the barrel to make my own Tabasco sauce. So for it tastes great.

I followed the directions exactly and after a few days the little wood had absorbed enough moisture so swell slightly and tighten that there were no leaks at all. Even at the very beginning I only saw just minor moisture on the exterior. I filled it with wine and no leaks at all. The wine has been siting in the barrel for about a week now and all is good.
