5 minutes
Juleps have been around since the 18th century and originated in the American South. They were traditionally made with bourbon, mint, sugar, and water. However, the recipe has evolved and includes various fruits, spices, and beer!
The Peach Beer Julep is a delicious, flavorful summertime cocktail perfect for sipping on a hot day. The key ingredient is bourbon whiskey aged in oak barrels.

8 oz. IPA beer
1/2 Brown sugar (or white sugar)
1 Small vanilla bean, split
2 Peaches, sliced
2 oz. Bourbon
1/2 oz. IPA syrup
Ice
In a small saucepan, put all ingredients, stirring it consistently, and bring the mixture to a boil.
Let it simmer and stir for 30 minutes or until the liquid is reduced by half.
Once the mixture has been reduced, remove it from heat.
Once it is cool, transfer the syrup into a clear mason jar and refrigerate it until you’re ready to use it.
In a cocktail glass of choice, muddle the peaches.
Add the bourbon, IPA syrup, ice, and swizzle with a bar spoon or swizzle stick.
Add another batch of ice until almost complete, and repeat the second step.
Top with crushed ice and garnish before serving.
