The mint julep was initially served in silver cups and stirred with silver spoons to keep things cold, but now you can enjoy yours on the rocks or shaken up in a cocktail shaker! If you're looking for an easy way to cool off during these hot summer months, try our recipe below.
Ingredients
2 oz. Straight Bourbon Whisky
2 cups sugar
2 cups water
Sprigs of fresh mint
Crushed ice
Directions
Make one julep at a time by filling a julep cup with crushed ice, adding one tablespoon mint syrup and two ounces of bourbon whiskey.
Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint.
