The Death to Scotland cocktail is an American version of the classic Scottish drink, Auld Alliance. The Auld Alliance drink is enjoyed to celebrate the momentous alliance between England and France.
The original recipe uses the crème de cassis and Scotch. The Death to Scotland drink substitutes Scotch with an American Single Malt Whiskey, combined with amaro, fino sherry, and a single malt highland-style whiskey.
This Scotch-turned American cocktail sounds like the perfect drink for history buffs!
Ingredients
1.75 oz. Virginia Distillery Courage and Conviction American Single Malt Whisky
½ oz. Amaro Tonica Ferro-Kina
Âľ oz. Quady Palamino Fino Sherry
Fifty Stone Single Malt Highland Style Whiskey wash
Tangelo peel for garnish
Directions
- Combine all ingredients in a coupe glass.
- Stir well until combined.Â
- Garnish with tangelo peel.
