Collection: GROWLERS
Transporting beer could be a hassle if you don’t have the right equipment. A growler is an air-tight jar that keeps the beer cold and carbonated for an extended time compared to ordinary jars. This drinkware can carry up to 64 ounces of beer.
Growlers provide a safe trip for beers without ruining their quality. They can be made of glass, ceramic, and stainless steel. As carbon dioxide escapes from this jar, it creates a rumbling noise, thus earning the name “growler.”
Types of Growlers
- Stainless Steel Growlers. Growlers that have high-quality stainless steel as materials are indeed sturdy. They can hold the beer and maintain its quality for over 24 hours, making it a piece of ideal equipment for camping. Aside from having a vacuum, stainless steel growlers have sunlight resistance, preventing the beer from skunking.
- Glass Growlers. Growlers usually present at restaurants, bars, breweries, and festivals are mostly glass. There are two variations of glass growlers, namely:
- Clear Glass Growlers are usually for short travels. They are fragile and not sunlight resistant, making the beer skunk faster. This glass growler's advantage is that it allows you to see your beer.
- Amber Glass Growlers are also made of glass but a colored one. They are slightly safer under the sunlight than clear glass growlers. They are brownish-red in color, but most people refer to their color as amber.
- Ceramic Growlers have more advantages than glass growlers. They are opaque, making the beer in good condition for an extended period. Ceramic growlers still break, but they are more durable than glass growlers.
Accessories for Growlers
Growlers are specially made for beers, which also require extra care and accessories. Some known growler accessories are:
- Filler Tubes. Although you can directly pour beer into your growler, it could cause plenty of spilling. Growler filler tubes make it easier to pour beer in your growlers and prevent too much foam build-up.
- Caps and Replacement Seals. Growler caps and seals are small and easily lost, so for your growlers to function well, you have to keep some extra with you. This could also be helpful when your caps and seals acquire some damage.
- Insulated Growler Bags. Insulated bags keep growlers safe from shock and sunlight. You might not need this all the time, but if you happen to be in a situation, you can still save your beer from skunking.
- Growler Crates. If beer and other alcoholic drinks have their crates, growlers should have one, too. These compartments will prevent your growlers from hitting each other and getting damaged while you transport them.
- Growler Tap. Some people prefer growlers with tap attachment to beer kegs. You can remove it anytime and attach it when needed, and people find it convenient.
Whether you own a growler at home or use it for business, you have to consider the material your growler is made of and the accessories you need to have for your growler to keep functioning correctly.
