No matter what time of the day it's in the summers. Imagine You just walked through the front door into a house sweltering with late summer heat, since you’re not one to blast the A/C while you’re away. You drop the purse and slide off your merciless shoes. It’s Wine Thyme.

Spritzers have been around for centuries, an Austrian concoction by origin and a famous choice in Europe on warm summer nights. What makes a spritzer is the heavenly combination of ice cold white wine and bubbles, either club soda or sparkling mineral water, creating a wine cocktail that’s not too sweet or heavy. Perfect for sultry days you’re craving something light and cooling. This is the cocktail to have on a fresh green lawn, with sandy toes on the beach, or on a rooftop with a view (and great company).

It’s also incredibly easy to make, a wonderful addition to the repertoire of any self-made bartender. All you need to do is muddle a few essential ingredients and add it to a slightly diluted wine for an effervescent experience. Make sure to start with a white wine you love, nothing you would give away to the stove. This copper jigger is the perfect accessory to measure out the lemon juice, Aperol, and simple syrup.

You can rest assured knowing that with this drink you’ll be hydrating more than if you were just having the wine by itself. With the addition of ice and mineral water, a spritzer is soft on the body and less apt to trigger an ugly hangover, making it a perfect drink to serve on school nights. Its light airiness make it a great choice for tasteful events where you want to serve an alcoholic option but not get your guests too sauced, such as baby showers or community brunches.

The real stars of the Wine Thyme Spritzer are the lovely add-ons. Pink Grapefruit Perrier gives a hint of bubbly sweetness, and a few sprigs of thyme feel earthy and natural. Ripe blueberries and lemon wheels seal the deal, making it fresh, flavourful, and bubbly: the best combination for a summer libation. It may be an adult beverage, but this drink will make you feel young again.

Even though Labor Day has come and gone, this summery bev will delight your palate and stretch out that carefree summer feel a bit longer. Lay back and kick your feet up. It’s Wine Thyme.
