Make A Light, Fruity and Refreshing White Wine Sangria for Any Occasion

The word "sangria" means blood in Latin, thanks to its reddish color, a result of its red wine ingredient. However, this refreshing fruit and wine mix is no longer limited to red wine. Interestingly, you can swap it with your favorite dry white wine.

Unlike traditional sangria, it's harder to find the right white wine and fruit combination because white wines showcase a fuller and fruitier taste. If you pair a citrusy white wine with lemon or lime, the overall taste and citrusness could be too overwhelming. Henceforth, just like red wine sangria recipes, it's important to choose simple white wines, and avoid full-bodied wines like an oaked Chardonnay.

Here's our light, fruity and refreshing white wine sangria recipe for any occassion.

Ingredients
1 bottle dry white wine
1 bottle prosecco
1 cup vodka
2 cups blueberries
2 cups of strawberries
2 cups blackberries
1/2 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup sugar

Preparation

1. Combine lemon juice, vodka and sugar in pitcher. Stir until sugar dissolves.

2. Add berries and white wine.

[Pro tip: do the steps above an hour before guests arrive and put it in the fridge for the flavors to meld and develop]

3. Pour into a large wine glass, top with prosecco and garnish with a skewer of berries.
